Note: Chilli heat varies by variety and ripeness. Taste a small piece before adding to determine your preferred level of spice.
Ingredients
| 1 large sweet pineapple | |
| 1 ripe sweet mango | |
| 3 apples | |
| 2 limes | |
| ½–1 red chilli | |
| sparkling water | |
| ice |
Steps
1
Wash and prep all ingredients. Remove the pineapple skin with a knife and cut the flesh into chunks. Leave the apple skins on and cut into chunks. |
2
Prepare the mango. Peel with a serated knife or sharp peeler. Stand it upright and slice down either side of the flat central pit to remove the two large cheeks. Chop into chunks. Then cut away any remaining mango flesh from the pit as possible. |
3
Peel the limes with a knife, removing all skin and pith, then cut in half. |
4
Prepare the chilli: cut it in half lengthways and scrape out the seeds with a teaspoon. Cut into small pieces. |
5
Feed the ingredients into the slow juicer in alternating batches: start with a few pieces of pineapple, then mango, then apple chunks. Continue alternating between the three fruits the hardier apple will help push the softer pineapple and mango through the machine |
6
Add the peeled lime halves as you continue the alternating process. |
7
Once you've processed most of the fruit, add a little of the chilli. Taste the juice and add more chilli gradually until you reach your preferred level of heat. |
8
Finish by feeding the last 1–2 chunks of apple through the juicer to push all remaining juice through the machine. |
